The nodeName property returns the tag name of the selected
element.
Syntax
Example
The following code fragment loads "books.xml"
into xmlDoc using
loadXMLDoc() and gets the tag name from the first <title>
element:

x=xmlDoc.getElementsByTagName("title")[0];
document.write(x.nodeName);
