JavaScript setMonth() Method

Definition and Usage

The setMonth() method is used to set the month.

Syntax

dateObject.setMonth(month,day)

Parameter Description
month Required. A numeric value between 0 and 11 representing the month
day Optional. A numeric value between 1 and 31 representing the day


Tips and Notes

Note: The value set by setMonth() is a number between 0 and 11. January is 0, February is 1 and so on.

Note: This method is always used in conjunction with a Date object.


Examples

Example 1

Set the month to 0 (January):

d.setMonth(0);
